22.05.2011 ~ Update... wait, what?

It's been almost a years since my last update and I apologize. Keeping my site up to date is not one of my strong points. I would like to tell you it’s because I'm busy working on LoP3.2 but alas real life is keeping me from finishing the series.

For the past three years I've been working at an advertising agency while also going to a school for digital-media.

My finals are now in full motion and at the end of summer hopefully I'm going to be a professional webdesigner and webprogrammer.

This of course makes progress in Lop3.2 very slow and at weekends I'm mostly too exhausted on staring at a computer all day programming. For the last year I was working on many different engines for games and animation because I just had no time for a big project.
At the moment I'm experimenting on a little jump and run game - very exiting because it my very first attempt and the engine looks promising. The good thing about a little project like that is you can work in small takes while on a game like LoP you can waste your entire saturday afternoon working on one little puzzle.

I apologize for keeping you waiting for so long and hope you understand my situation. I'm still planning to finish the game but it is way too early to estimate a proper release date.
The projects page has been updated with some screenshots of my jump and run engine so you can take some glimpse at the first draft of the game.

18.09.2010 ~ News Update

Hey guys, it's been over year since my last post and the release of Pliskin 3.1. Wow, how time flies.
Just wanted to keep you posted about the developement of the final part of Pliskins Point 'n Click adventure game series.

I wont bore you with excuses why I haven't completed the game by now. I know, the last part is long overdue.
Just let me tell you, that I'm still working on the game during every free time I have.

08.08.2009 ~ New Game: LoP3 Ep1

Legacy of Pliskin 3.1
Wow, it's been slightly over one year since I started working on this project and now the first episode of Pliskins third adventure is finally complete.

Hope you like it - I'm looking foward to hear your opions about the game.

08.08.2009 ~ LoP3 News: About 95% done.

Progress was quite slow last week since I had to wait for some voice lines to be recorded before I could continue working on the flash.

Today I got most of the lines (There is still one person who didn't had the chance to record his lines yet.) and completed the intro sequence.

Not much to do anymore exept the last lines and some additional sound effects. But after that I have to compress the flash file to under 10 MB. Oh my...

26.07.2009 ~ LoP3 News: 90% done.

The first episode is almost finished. All main quests and sidequests are done and now I'm currently working on small ambient stuff like background characters and secret unlockables.

Also, there are still some lines and sound effect which I have to insert.

I currently plan to release the game mid-late August 2009.

12.07.2009 ~ LoP3 News: Teaser Trailer

Progress is going smoothly with "Legacy of Pliskin".
The only big things left to do are two last sidequests, complete the bonusmaterials, inserting missing voices and embedding the entire sound effects.

A release in mid-late August could be possible, no?

On top of that I did a little teaser trailer for you guys.
It's nothing spectacular but gives some smalls peaks into the games art-style, atmosphere and characters.

05.06.2009 ~ Change of plan and screenshots

Gameprogress was rather slow the last two months because of the filesize dilemma. The size exploded to 3,5 MB. Pretty damn big if you consider that there are still 4 chapters to go and there’s going to be sidequests and secrets, too.

I tried a lot of ways to compress the data without losing too much quality. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful and I’m pretty mad (and disappointed) I literally wasted the two months. So I decided to split Pliskins final adventure into two episodes.

Each episode will contain 3 main story chapters and about 5 sidequests. The good news is that I’m already done programming chapter 2; so there’s only one major quest and some sidequests to go (Not counting the little bonus stuff like unlockable medals and secrets) and I'm going to release episode one as soon as I'm finished.

As a little thank you for your patience I have uploaded the projects page with some more info and screenshots.

25.03.2009 ~ LoP3 News - Gameprogress

First let me thank all the people who send me emails regarding LoP3. I appreciate it and am very proud the series has gained such a big popularity. A lot of you guys and gals ask me about the gameprogress and what will be improved from the previous games.

1. I'm in the middle of chapter 2 and it looks good so far. Meaning no big glitches occurred during programming. The game itself will have about 5-6 chapters; so there is still a lot of work ahead. Too much too give you a release date just yet. I originally planned to have it ready for summer, but I'm not sure it will be possible.

2. Another popular question: Is Edwyn going to be back? Yes! He, Cody Underwood and DP Maracin are all going to reprise their roles from the prequel.

3. The gamelength and content was also asked but I don’t want to spoil everything just yet. However the game is planned to be about double as long as part 2 and will contain much more dialog. To be honest; the only problem I'll have during programming is going to be the filesize.

Hope the information pleases you for now. When I’m done with chapter 2 I’m going upload some new screenshots.

25.01.2008 ~ LoP3 Progress

I think it’s time to inform you about the development progress for my latest game “Legacy of Pliskin Trilogy Part 3”.

I'm halfway done with the backgrounds. I drew them via pencil and scanned them into my computer. Then I imported the big picture and redrew it via mouse. Even though the result looks very good I realized too late about a flaw in this plan.

The original backgrounds were scanned huge on purpose to draw as much detail as possible. Then I put it into a movieclip and scaled it down. Unfortunately Flash 8 wasn’t smart enough to actually scale down the original background and only made the movieclip smaller which resulted in a gigantic flashfile in form of 3 MB!

It took quite a while to rescale the raw backgrounds inside the movieclip without destroying the entire layout. You learn from your mistakes don’t you?

Also, in more positive news, I finished most of Pliskins vital animations. This time I put all important objects (his eyes, mouth and head f.e.) into separate movieclips. This allows me to combine the objects to create much more expressions for Pliskin. Technically there are over 160 unique face-combinations right now.

15.11.2008 ~ LoP3 News - Backgrounds

It's newstime once again.
The Lop3 progress goes on well. The script is now finished and the first Voice Actors are on the job. I'm currently drawing the 50 to 60 background pictures and first characters.

You can check some new pics on the "projects" page. There you can also find a pic with a newdesign LoP-veteran.

Keep in mind, that the pics are early backgrounds. In the final version, there will be more characters, an HUD and some lightning effects. But tell me what you think anyway; the "contact" page should be up and running again.

04.10.2008 ~ Domain News & LoP3

Blueglue.de still suffers from the serverswitch and has caused some little errors inside my folder structure. The emailcontact is currently unavailable but will be online in a few days or so.

In other news:
Thanks to everybody who send me emails regarding my new game "Legacy of Pliskin 3". I now a lot of people are waiting Impatiently for the last installment, so I think it's only fair to give you guys a little update on the development progress.

The script is already finished and the first voice actors are on the job. Right now I am drawing the over 60 background pictures.

When is the game going to be released? Sheesh, I don’t know. Not this years that’s for sure :-P

30.09.2008 ~ Little Update

Sorry I haven't updated in a while but thanks to my job I don't have that much free time to spare to write down interesting blogs.

You've probably noticed that this domain was currently unavailable for the last 24 hours - the reason is that I've switched my domain to another server causing a little mixup with an other domain I own.

In other news: LoP3 is doing well. The script is finished and I'm now in the middle of drawing the backgrounds. I'll update the "Projects" section once I have some cool screenshots.

I don't know what to say. I'm overwhelmed with joy. The game has actually became, what I've had in mind almost three years ago.

Okay, I lied. It's almost finished.

01.01.2008 ~ Happy New Year with a new cartoon!

Meet the Pyro
As a start into the year 2008 I've made a new flashcartoon. It stares the "Team Fortress 2" character 'The Pyro'.

If you already know the official "Meet the.." videos from valve, then you'll know what to expect and since 4 months have passed since the last "Meet the..." video I've decided to give valve a hand and make my own. Hope you like it.

26.10.2007 ~ Gnomotron delayed :-(

Bad news everyone.

I had to delay the release of "Gnomotron" since I've got a lot of other stuff to do right now. I have to write two essays for my diploma certificate and then I'm usually too exhausted to work on Gnomis adventure and play Xbox instead.

On the bright side, the game itself is already complete. But I have to animate the intro- and outrosequences before I can upload it. Don't worry. The game will most likely make its way to the www in a couple of months.
